We drove Southern Europe with two small kids and learned most of it the hard way. Too many stops. Too many one-night stays. A drive that looked reasonable on a map and turned into four hours of crying — for everyone in the car.
By the end we had something more useful than a highlight list: a set of limits. How far we can actually drive in a day. How long a place needs before it stops feeling like a transit stop. What a good day costs, honestly, when you're feeding four people.
